With numerous return invitations from leading European Orchestras critically acclaimed soprano continues to be in high demand for the upcoming 2019/20 Season. With debuts around the world, Sobotka has firmly established herself as one of the most sought-after artists.
Continuing her close collaboration with Sir Simon Rattle, Sobotka will be a featured soloist with the Berliner Philharmoniker performing Beethoven’s Christ on a Mount of Olives and with London Symphony Orchestra in Berg’s Lulu Suite and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Performances will take place at the Barbican, Elbphilharmonie and during the Baden Baden Festspiele.
After successful work with Marek Janowski, this season will see Sobotka returning to Orquestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg for Strauss’ Vier Letzte lieder and debuting with the Dresden Philharmoniker, NHK Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo Spring Festival) and at the Bayreuther Festspiele with Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
Other debuts include the Basel Sinfonieorchester with Michal Nesterowicz, Calgary Philharmonic with Rune Bergmann and Radio Filharmonisch Orkest with Karina Canellakis.
Her long term collaboration with Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin will continue with three concerts this season, featuring Górecki’s 3rd Symphony with Andrey Boreyko, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Karina Kanellakis and Gijs Leenars. She will also return to perform with Orquestra Sinfónica de Tenerife, MDR Sinfonieorchester and to her native Poland to perform with several top orchestras.
She continues also her collaboration with Komische Oper Berlin as Pamina in Mozart´s Magic Flute on tour to Spain, Taiwan and Macao.
Highlights from Sobotka’s 2018-2019 season included highly acclaimed performances with Berliner Philharmoniker, Staatskapelle Berlin, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra amongst others.
